Amazon is distributing invitations to purchase a PS5 or Xbox Series X. The online store has acknowledged that it has distributed the most recent wave of invitations to buy any console. Check your email inbox to see if you were a lucky receiver if you’re one of the customers who is still on the fence about purchasing one.
However, there is a catch. To be invited, you would have needed to register. Amazon opened up invite requests to purchase the PS5 and Xbox Series X earlier this summer (via The Verge ). And if you asked for an invite, you might have received one today. Amazon also mentions that a new batch of invitations will be distributed soon if you didn’t receive one. in reality, the next week when more invitations will be sent out.
The business is mum about the precise timing. However, it will probably take place towards the start of the week, exactly like it did this time. If you didn’t receive an invitation today, keep an eye out starting on Monday for one.

If you were invited, you will have precisely 72 hours to purchase the console before your designated unit is made available. Amazon then likely adds the shares back to the pool for the subsequent round of invitations.
You can still ask for an invitation for the following round if you didn’t ask for one and hence didn’t receive one. Additionally, requesting an invite does not require you to be a Prime member.
Those who do receive invitations will see a special URL inside the email. In order to purchase the console for which you registered, you must click that link. There is always a chance you can snag an invite from another retailer if you signed up but didn’t receive one this time or the following week.
Advertisement Even so, you’ll need to wait for restocks and navigate a sea of rival customers clamoring for the same inventory. If you receive an invitation to purchase something, at least with Amazon you are guaranteed to do so.
