The second software update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 is being released by Samsung. Users in Europe with firmware versions F926BXXU1CVF1 and F711BXXU2CVF1 can currently get the upgrade. Within the next few days, it can spread to other places.
For Samsung’s 2021 foldable pair in Europe, the most recent update does not include a new security patch. The June SMR (Security Maintenance Release), which both models received a few weeks ago, is still active. Additionally, the official changelogs only refers to stability enhancements. However, we doubt that’s the only modification Samsung is introducing with the new software set. There may be more, as seen by the update’s size for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 (around 302MB) ( via ).
Unfortunately, we are unable to confirm whether the two foldables will receive any noteworthy new features with the most recent version. In the US, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 received new camera functionality as part of the first June update. On the former, eSIM support was also enabled. The May update brought those camera functions to European devices, where eSIM support was pre-installed.

However, a Disallow all option for sideloading of APKs was included in the May update for them in Samsung’s native country. It prohibits the installation of software from unidentified sources. The gadgets also have Smart Widgets, a feature that cleverly groups related widgets on your phone’s homescreen to help clear clutter. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 now has a vibration feature for making calls.
Perhaps the European units are now receiving these adjustments. Or, as Samsung claims, perhaps there are simply minor stability improvements. Maybe some essential improvements that the business couldn’t wait to make until the security upgrade in July. When the update begins to be widely distributed in the coming days, we’ll find out.
