Samsung hopes to make $1 billion in sales of the Galaxy M series in India this year. Following the unveiling of the Galaxy M13 and Galaxy M13 5G on Thursday, a business executive discussed the intended sales value with the media.

Under its Galaxy M lineup, Samsung produces some of the greatest low-cost and mid-range Android smartphones. The business currently offers the Galaxy M series in a number of other markets after initially launching it in India. The gadgets are still not as readily accessible as the Galaxy A series, though. The greatest market for the devices is India, where the Korean company strategically offers them. There are already 42 million users of the Galaxy M series in the nation.

Samsung’s market share in India’s 10,000–40,000 (about $125–$500) budget and mid-range segment is increasing as a result of the success of the Galaxy M. According to research firm Counterpoint, it increased from 21.4 percent over the same period last year to 26.9 percent between January and May 2022. The company’s entire market share in the country’s smartphone market rose from 20 percent to 22.6 percent thanks to this growth.

Aditya Babbar, senior director and head of product marketing at Samsung India, said the business has ambitious plans for 2022 while speaking to the media on the sidelines of the introduction of the Galaxy M13 series on Thursday ( via ). We’ve set a goal of USD 1 billion for the M series this year, he continued. In value terms, Samsung has already grown by 20% over the past year in the first half of the year.
