The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has recently been in the spotlight, but new speculations indicate that it might be available in a consumer phone as early as November. That’s according to a recent tweet from well-known Android and Samsung leaker Ice Universe .
The original tweet, which is posted below, is really brief. Unsurprisingly, Qualcomm is reportedly putting a lot of effort into getting the new chipset into production. Additionally, OEMs are reportedly getting ready to include it in their next-generation flagship vehicles given the advantages it is expected to bring over its predecessor. By the way, it’s anticipated that the new chip will be about 15% more efficient than the one it replaces.
WHICH PHONE WILL BE THE FIRST TO USE SNAPDRAGON 8 GEN 2 AND WHAT IS THE LATEST? Given the source of the tweets, of course, at least some first conjecture can be made. That is, given that Samsung has received most of Ice Universe’s attention. However, Samsung seldom releases new phones in November, much less new flagships.
Advertisement Oppo, ASUS, Vivo, Poco, and other Chinese OEMs are among the businesses that do. So if the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone does launch within the rumoured timeline, it’s likely that company will be the first to release it.
As of this writing, the precise specifications of the chip are unknown. A new core configuration is suggested by earlier rumors. Specifically, a quad-cluster configuration that is unique. If rumors are accurate, that would include three Cortex-A510 cores, two Cortex-A720 cores, and two Cortex-A710 cores. The performance of those cores is presented in descending order. The Cortex-A510 CPU cores were created with efficiency in mind.
If true, there are many conclusions to be made from that, especially when combined with increased overall efficiency. In particular, this chipset would be extraordinarily potent when required. However, the utilization of three effective cores may also indicate a significantly longer battery life. For people who don’t always need or use all of that power, at the very least.
Advertisement According to the most recent information I have, Qualcomm is actively developing the Snapdragon 8Gen2 chip, which must be a very impressive device with excellent power efficiency. All Android manufacturers are actively preparing for it, and there is even a chance that a new phone could be released in November.
